What a fun week it's been! Custom orders, met some new neighbors that do what we do here at We Chic'd It! and whom hopefully may become part of the WCI team! Today's blog was originally scheduled for this chair from last week. Remember it??? Well, we got started with stripping the top layer of fabric and found there were multiple layers below it. There hasn't been a single chair that we've worked on that hasn't had atleast 2 layers of previously loved fabric. Yes, we say "previously loved" because they have seen so much love in their lives from the worn down edges, stains, snags, cigarette butt holes, and everything else that shows on the fabric. Here's the new inspirational fabric that we will use to bring back to life. Isn't it lovely?!!!! We've been itching to use it on something fun and this chair was the perfect match. But now we need to finish it. That's right! This chair isn't finished yet. It's been a busy week with returning from the holidays and finalizing orders. Sooooooo. We decided to share a different makeover piece, a customer order, their solid white fireplace surround and mantel. We normally tend to work with just solid wood vintage furniture pieces but this customer had a vision and we knew it could be accomplished with the right tools. Very exciting!!!! After some Pinterest posts and viewing her home, we were on our way. The goal was to accentuate their rustic industrial themed home and think we got it after the first layer of paint. Yeah, not exactly what you would think when we said 1st layer of paint. No worries, it actually allows us to define and accent all the levels of this piece. See the definition??? If you don't, that's okay. As this wasn't the final goal. It's actually been refinished to have a warm, rustic, and aged. Perfect for adding holiday decor items this season. What do you think??? Did "We Chic It"? Have an item that you need Chic'd? Let us help you! Furniture, home decor, Pinterest projects, and much more! www.buildlkn.com
