What a fun week it's been! Custom orders, met some new neighbors that do what we do here at We Chic'd It! and whom hopefully may become part of the WCI team! Today's blog was originally scheduled for this chair from last week. Remember it??? Well, we got started with stripping the top layer of fabric and found there were multiple layers below it. There hasn't been a single chair that we've worked on that hasn't had atleast 2 layers of previously loved fabric. Yes, we say "previously loved" because they have seen so much love in their lives from the worn down edges, stains, snags, cigarette butt holes, and everything else that shows on the fabric. Here's the new inspirational fabric that we will use to bring back to life. Isn't it lovely?!!!! We've been itching to use it on something fun and this chair was the perfect match. But now we need to finish it. That's right! This chair isn't finished yet. It's been a busy week with returning from the holidays and finalizing orders. Sooooooo. We decided to share a different makeover piece, a customer order, their solid white fireplace surround and mantel. We normally tend to work with just solid wood vintage furniture pieces but this customer had a vision and we knew it could be accomplished with the right tools. Very exciting!!!! After some Pinterest posts and viewing her home, we were on our way. The goal was to accentuate their rustic industrial themed home and think we got it after the first layer of paint. Yeah, not exactly what you would think when we said 1st layer of paint. No worries, it actually allows us to define and accent all the levels of this piece. See the definition??? If you don't, that's okay. As this wasn't the final goal. It's actually been refinished to have a warm, rustic, and aged. Perfect for adding holiday decor items this season. What do you think??? Did "We Chic It"? Have an item that you need Chic'd? Let us help you! Furniture, home decor, Pinterest projects, and much more! www.buildlkn.com
Thanks for stopping by for another weekly #MakeoverMonday. It's been fun!!! Here are one of our favorite makeovers that anyone can do. Especially if you have an old window sitting around in your garage or basement. Many times homeowners keep them for future DIY projects but in reality they just collect dust. Hopefully after today's post you'll be inspired to dust it off! The one I want to share today is a vintage solid pane window from our customer's family home. One of the vintage ones that were on a weighted pulley system. Here she is... Saved as a future DIY project for about 5 years. When we received this window, we wanted to make it special but didn't know their home decor. So, as any DIYer would do, we looked to the Internet. There were so many great transformations that we found but one stood out the most. It had a rustic feel that could be updated seasonally. *I don't remember where we found this but if it's yours or you have the link, please comment below. I'd love to give you credit. ☺️ After some cleaning and scrubbing. You could really see the beautiful details in the glass. It has a scalloped effect to it. Wish we had taken more close up pictures but I think you can see the detail during the decorating stage. It has already been painted, distressed, and sealed at this stage. Both sides are painted and the smooth side can also be used as a message center by writing directly in the window with a dry erase marker. It's easy to clean and can be updated for any holiday or seasonal decoration. Now for our favorite part. The final reveal! Drumroll please! Can we do this for you??? Yes! Do you have to have your own window???? No! We have a variety of vintage windows available. Come on by to browse our selection or order yours online. We offer nationwide shipping and if ordered today! It would be discounted. Thanks for reading our blog today. Here is the official Cyber Monday Makeover code as promised.....Use code:

Have a Happy & Blessed Thanksgiving from We Chic'd It! #wechicdit #shopsmall #shoplocal Looks as if I overslept without publishing my #makeovermonday post! Ugh! Well, at least I'm honest about it. Anyways, thank you for stopping by and checking out our blog. Last week's project focused on holiday decorations made from pallets. Yes, pallets! They don't always look like when you see them on the side of the road or next to a dumpster. This one has been sanded down and was ready but here's what they really start out as... Now with a little elbow grease, paint brushes, mistinted/old paint that would have been dumped, some old ornaments & holiday decor. Bam! You can now place this next to your front door with pride! Personally, we plug ours in so it lights up the tree. Here are others pallet items that we've done in the past. Custom order yours today! www.buildlkn.com #wechicdit #Shopsmall
Wow! What a great time we had hosting and meeting so many new people at this weekend's event. We loved hearing your stories, collaborating with your ideas, and sharing our work.
The creation of Pinterest has opened up so many opportunities for people to see how their home decor could look when furniture is stained or painted a different color. It's also one of the many ways we collaborate with you for your custom order requests. Do you have antique furniture sitting in your garage or basement waiting on you to stain or paint it? Do you like what you see online but don't know what tools to use or have the time to finish it? Share your ideas with us and we'll see where we can be of assistant. Link us with us on Pinterest or go to www.buildlkn.com to start this process. NOTE: This Monday-Friday, we are taking a much needed break for all of us to spend time with our family and friends. But will be back open Saturday for #SmallBusinessSaturday. Only 1 more week for the raffle. $1 gives you the possibility to win the refinished sign "Château Lafite". Thanks for stopping by! #wechicdit Thanks for stopping by to check out the 2nd half of our Makeover Monday weekly series. You responded and we listened. You wanted to see more before and after pictures of our work, so we started this weekly series. Come here each and every Monday to see one of our refinished, refurbished, reupholstered, and/or repurposed pieces. We posted the 1st picture on our FB page earlier today. www.facebook.com/wechicdit Came here without seeing the 1st half of Makeover Monday?? You're in luck! The first post showcased one of the refinished chairs from the antique dining room table set, as seen below. Part 2 - Makeover Monday Now for part 2. This set was found by one of our local pickers. He knew we would know what to do with this set to bring it back to life. Little did he know that there were customers already waiting for a set like this to come available. So we immediately contacted the top name on our furniture waiting list and shared this picture. Can you see the potential???? Well, we could. Our customer had already seen some of our previous refinished table sets and knew exactly the look she wanted us to replicate. Once we had her inspiration and fabric choice (plus her payment), we were able to start breathing life into this set. Yeah.....we needed to use some elbow grease, sander, paint, and time for this set. It finally started taking shape and we knew we were getting close to the end when we could start distressing the base. Now for the final reveal..... We Chic'd It! From start to finish and everything in between!
Now I wonder what we will showcase for next week????
We hope to see you at our upcoming Holiday Open House! You'll be able to see up close and personal as to why you should buy from We Chic'd It!
